Incorporated in February 2006, TAZIA Inc. is a for-profit pan-African arts marketing and entertainment firm dedicated to unifying the global pan-African arts industry, and providing consumers with authentic pan-African experiences.

as organizers, researchers, educators and artists.

Darian Parker - Executive Director of Arts and Research

Darian Parker is currently completing his PhD in Anthropology and African American Studies at Yale University. His particular areas of focus include modern social philosophy, and the religious and expressive traditions of African Diasporic peoples.His career as a professional West African dancer began in 1997 as an undergraduate at UCLA, where he and Dionne Thomas co-founded Jooba, a very successful African dance company on campus, inspired by mentor Nzingha Camara. Since then he has studied, taught, performed and choreographed in West Africa and throughout the United States.  In addition to his work as an artist and scholar, Darian has also served as a manager, development director, grant writer and educator in the non-profit sector. Dionne Thomas - Executive Director of Marketing and Management

Dionne Thomas has a Masters of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and Global Management from Babson College. Also a professional West African dancer, she has been a dedicated member of the pan-African arts industry since 1997, and has had a positive influence in the business development of non-profit arts and educational programs across the country.She recently co-authored an analyst report with Darian Parker on the globalization of the African dance market and its emerging influence on commerce.  In January 2007, Dionne joined the faculty at Brooklyn College teaching courses in Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship.
